Tree surgery, flooding and wooden games

Term 3 started with some woodland clearance, with some evidence of Ash die back the tree surgeon cut back about 3 of our mature ash trees. This resulted in lots of sawing and lopper use and a nice full woodstore A few wet days gave us some flooding which the children loved exploring resulting in some muddy hands, clothes and wellies. Making houses for furry friends

Forest school production and firewood preparation

Building on the experiences from last week, yesterday afternoon with Y1 involved lots of children using lots of different tools.. Some children whittled sticks.. Other children began to cut up branches into smaller pieces ready for adding to the fire.. Some children used the bow saw as a team to cut the bigger pieces up Some children made some medals and we finished off the session with Marshmallows toasted over the fire.. Yum!  ...
